Review on Rice (2014) The Nature of Music

Ethnography is descriptive study of a particular human society or the process of making such a study. Contemporary ethnography is based almost entirely on fieldwork and requires the complete immersion of the anthropologist in the culture and everyday life of the people who are the subject of his study. It is also the study of people in their own environment through the use of methods such as participant observation and face-to-face interviewing.

Nature of Music is called biomusic, it is a form of experimental music which deals with sounds created or performed by non-humans. The definition is also sometimes extended to include sounds made by humans in a directly biological way. Music goes back a long way in history. It was born through the composition of individual syllables and eventually evolved into what is now called music. It should be a flowing and free composition belonging to nature, it should not be given definitions and frames.
